"Unbelievable" Zorori is a prankster fox determined to become the Prince of Mischief, with his very own castle and beautiful bride. While is notorious for his prank-making schemes, his ill-meaning plots often backfire against him, and can usually end up even benefiting or cheering up his targets, much to his dismay. 원작은 하라 유타카(原ゆたか)의 아동용 그림책으로, 일반적인 분위기의 그림책이라기보다는 만화에 가까운 느낌을 주는 단순화된 그림과 독특한 아이디어로 일본에서는 상당한 인기를 얻고 있는 책이다. 사실 작품의 주인공인 조로리는 원래 미즈시마 시호(みづしま志穂) 원작의 <시금치맨(ほうれんそうマン)>이라는 작품에 등장한 적 캐릭터였으나, <시금치맨>의 일러스트를 맡았던 하라 유타카가 시리즈가 종료된 후 원작자의 양해를 구해 캐릭터를 끌어와 새로운 작품으로 탄생시킨 것이다.
